A classic recipe to take you back to your childhood which will bring a smile on your face with every glorious mouthful, with a St Helen’s twist.

Instructions

  1. Mix the milk, eggs & sugar together.
  2. Cut one slice of buttered bread into 4 and put in a 2 ½ pint pudding dish, butter side up.
  3. Sprinkle sultanas onto the bread.
  4. Cut other slice into 4 and place on top of the sultanas.
  5. Pour on the egg mixture.
  6. Bake at 190C 375F Gas 5 for 45 minutes until set and golden brown.
