Instructions
- Rub the butter into the flour, salt and baking powder.
- Stir in the sugar and flaked almonds.
- Beat together the egg and essence.
- Mix into crumb mixture to form a soft dough, if it is a little dry add a little milk.
- Roll into balls of approx 25g (1oz) in palm of hand and press to approx 1cm ½“ thick.
- Put on lightly oiled baking sheet and bake at 170C (325F) Gas 4 for 15 minutes or until just brown.
