St Helen’s Farm is proud to announce that its Natural Live Goats Yogurt has been awarded the highly coveted 3-star rating in the Great Taste 2024 Awards. This recognition is the highest accolade in the world of fine food and drink, marking the yogurt as “extraordinarily tasty.”
The Great Taste Awards are organised by the Guild of Fine Food. This prestigious competition is renowned for its rigorous judging process, involving a panel of over 500 experts who taste and evaluate thousands of products from around the globe.
The expert Great Taste Award judges said, “This is a glossy, smooth yogurt, with a texture like silk. There’s an impressive balance of flavours, as the first notes hit with a slight sharpness and tanginess, this is soon replaced with a deluxe creaminess. This would be a welcome dish to start the day.
Beautifully glossy and soft in texture, this completely homogenous yogurt has the texture of a melted marshmallow. The aroma is elegantly goats milk noted with a fresh grassy note and hints of sweet hay. It delivers a creamy, smooth and syrupy mouthfeel with a mouth coating thickness, almost like melted white chocolate. The judges felt that the acidity is both appealingly punchy and cuts through the level of fat with a hint of saltiness and subtle goats cheese notes on the super smooth finish. The judges were wowed by this product and felt that it could be highly versatile across a range of sweet and savoury culinary applications.
“A liquid goat’s cheese” is how one judge described this. A testament to the terroir it came from, it has the intensity of goat’s milk without being overpowering.
Fresh, bright white in colour, this has a thick texture and a rich, creamy, smooth mouthfeel. The flavour is lactic with a pleasant acidity, fresh but, impressively for this category, not too ‘goaty’. Simple, well-executed and versatile.
We loved the shiny colour and natural thickness of this goat’s milk yogurt. It has a lovely natural tang, sweet flavour and creaminess that we adored. The finish is super clean. This product could be used in so many wonderful cooking creations but also enjoyed on its own.”
