Rich, creamy, and packed with smoky flavour, this comforting bake combines fluffy mashed potatoes with tangy goat’s cheese and crispy bacon. Finished in the oven until golden, it’s the perfect cosy dish for a family dinner or indulgent weekend meal.

This recipe uses our delicious St Helen’s Farm products and smoky bacon from Denhay Bacon to create an extra creamy, flavour-packed comfort dish.

Instructions

  1. Cook the potatoes Place the chopped potatoes into a saucepan of salted water. Bring to the boil and cook for around 15–20 minutes, or until soft and easily pierced with a fork. Drain well.
  2. Make the mash Mash the potatoes with the goat’s butter and a splash of goat’s milk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of herbs if using.
  3. Add the cheese Stir the goat’s cheese into the hot mash until melted and fully combined, creating a rich and tangy mash.
  4. Cook the bacon In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until golden and crispy.
  5. Assemble the bake Spoon the crispy bacon into the base of a pie dish. Top evenly with the creamy goat’s cheese mash.
  6. Bake Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (180°C fan) for 20–25 minutes, until the top is lightly golden.
